The Fix

Some of the members on this forum are being a little harsh on tech support for a problem that was caused by Microsoft. When my computer crashed, the error message referred to SaiH0255.sys. When I did a Google search, I found this forum and found my fix to roll back to the orginal drivers, delete and reinstall the hardware files. I appreciate all of the attention given by the tech support and users of this forum. Thank you... I'm up and running!

Dave

Unhappy x52 not working at all

Is there somebody out there with a clear and simple way to make everything work.I installed a few versions of drivers, and the best i found is that when i have all drivers up to date and i try to load a profile,i have a reboot of my PC
and had to reinstall windows to correct bad or missing files.
Is there a good driver i can use somewhere

Thanks for help guys

Use the CD software only. Anything else eventually blue screens here. Another fine software mess. I am only surprised that anything other than the CD software is made available. I managed to get by the BSODs by going back to a system restore (point). That let me get the working software back on. Without going back to a restore point prior to the point of putting on non-CD software, the mini-kb/mouse would not install from the CD, so things like bf1942 wouldn't work right. Backed up a few days and the CD software installed fine. Somebody there needs to really get this worked out, specifically, what to do when a software update goes bad. You need to make it so the old (working) software can be put on, and install 100%, not fail not just once (mini keybd) but twice (mini mouse). And you MUST put the software to install in ONE PLACE, not some at MS and some on your website. Well, I'm convinced know one there knows much about this. And I would have to think very hard to get myself to put any more saitek stuff on my system.

My LEDs on random occasion light up full blast at least once a boot. I have to hit the LED off knob in the control panel, even though the knob is already set to off. Not a big deal compared to the main problem.

Well, bought my x-52 yesterday and today i had the beautifull idea to upgrade the driver.. well, installed, rebooted and no more Windows!! yep..it crashed completly, and guess what?! i dont know why, but the F8 doesent work anymore!! How could this be?
Why, but why didnt i look at this forum before doing anything??
Im trying to put this toguether, just to do a restore to my windows..
Im really sad.. didnīt had time to try anything worth the x-52

Just dont understand why a "update" can give such problems... is our problem (computer custumers) or a poor tech research by Saitek?

Sorry about the English

Hi, these files from Saitek FTP solved all problems that I had under Windows XP PRO SP2

SST Software - ftp://ftp.saitek.com/pub/software/sst_151205_32.exe
X52 Driver - ftp://ftp.saitek.com/pub/software/x52/x52_151205_32.exe

Have fun.

The support here is great. "Beta" is the key word.

"All of these drivers are currently unsigned by Microsoft, however, they all actually pass the WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Labs) signing procedure. We'll be submitting all these drivers for signing in the near future and I'll replace the unsigned ones with the signed ones as they become available. Any that have been signed will be marked with an asterix (*).
When installing these versions, do not uninstall your previous version of drivers/software first - the installation will remove the previous versions as part of the install process."

That last part is what most of us are haveing a problem with.

I did not uninstall old version first, i simply installed the new one and WHAM now am having lots of problems... first, i found the windows update and thought "cool" so i downloaded and i couldn't load profiles. so like a good little idiot i checked the faq online & finally i found out that i needed to download the new vers. of sst . WELL that's where it all went downhill !!!! started getting a msvcr70.dll error mess. . I have been trying for 2 days now to fix. i uninstalled, did reg cleanup, reinstalled, pulled my hair out and am now still in the same boat as before. does ANYONE know how to fix, should i just live with .dll error everytime i turn on my cowputeer ?

Hi,

Are you running any Norton software (Anti-virus etc.)? If so then try reinstalling it and see if that helps.

In that case you can download the file from here:

http://www.dll-files.com/dllindex/dl....shtml?msvcr70

It needs to be placed in your C:\Windows\System32 folder.

The date is matched to the time on clock 1, which is locked to GMT. I suspect therefore that you live in the USA and you're only noticing this in the evening when over here we're all tucked up in our beds, past midnight, into the next day.

If you check it in the morning or afternoon, when we're still on the same day as you then you'll find that it's fine.
