Cyborg Keyboard Not Working Anymore
A few days ago my power supply blew up (Was just browsing internet at the time, PC went off and it tripped the main curcuit board cutting off all the plug sockets in the house). Once I'd put a new one in my Cyborg keyboard wouldn't work anymore. It shows the following problems:
When trying to do it via Hardware updates (or just pluging it in) I get the message: The driver installation file is missing a neccessary entry. This may be because the INF was written for Windows 95 or later. Contact your hardware vendor. When trying to install using the CD it gets to 'Please plug in the controllers you wish to update' but no further. 'Next' stays greyed out despite unplugging/replugging/different usb's etc. (Also tried with downloaded drivers) I have tried manually placing the drivers in the folder. Uninstalling/Re-installing anything Saitek. Even running system restore back two days to before the power supply went. I am sure my USB ports are fine as my temp keyboard works in them with no problems. I am sure the cyborg keyboard itself is fine as it works on my friends PC with no problems. Furthermore, I can get into my BIOS using the cyborg keyboard, it just won't do anything in Windows! I would really like to get it working properly again, but have absolutely no idea how or what is causing the problem. Any help appreciated! ![]() System specs: OS = Windows XP 64-Bit 620W Power supply (currently 400 as a temp measure until 620 is replaced) Asus P5Q MB QuadCore 2.66Ghz clocked at 3.2Ghz, 12Mb Cache (1333FSB) ATI Sapphire4850 512mb GFX Card x2 (Currently down to one cos of 400 power supply) Other system details can be supplied if needed. |

Could you be a little more specific on what files u need to remove and where they are. I havent used windows in a while lol. Im having the same issue, all i did was move the keyboard from a front usb port to a Port on the back of the comp.

Hi,
I have seen this on my 64 bit systems. You should not have to go through deleting driver and system files though to get it back up and running. If you hace changed ports and the keyboard is not recognized, by the OS or the driver installation, the first place to go to is Device Manager (Control Panel > System). In here you shuold see some entries with exclamation marks next to them, they should appear when the keyboars is connected and go away when it is disconnected. To get the keyboard going again, right click the error entries and select update software. Click the options to browse your PC for a driver and then the option to select from a list. When presented with a list of possible drivers select anything that refers to USB Human Interface Devices or HID compliant keyboard, and click next. Repeat this process for all the error entries that appear. Once this has been done you should notice that your keyboard now responds. The crux of this fix is to get the keyboard installed with generic USB drivers first. Once this has been achieved you can install our driver files. |
