Detailed info on my Pro Gamer Command Unit install problem
Greetings helpful souls!
I have tried to install the drivers both from the CD and beta drivers from the website, and I'm still having a problem. My Pro Gamer Command Unit successfully is recognized, and I can do the test from the control panel where it recognizes input (all buttons work). However, the install did not leave a little icon in my bottom tray. Also, applications like Notepad and World of Warcraft are not receiving button input. Is there any way I get that button back? Here is some stuff from my Device Manager: under 'Human Interface Devices' it says: - Logitech Cordless USB Mouse - Saitek Pro Gamer Command Unit (HID) - Saitek Pro Gamer Command Unit (USB) - USB Human Interface Device (that last one is my keyboard) under 'Keyboards' it says: - HID Keyboard device under 'Mice and other pointing devices' it says: - Logitech HID-compliant cordless mouse under 'Sound, video and game controllers' it says: - Audio Codecs - Creative SB X-Fi - Legacy Audio Drivers - Legacy Video Capture Drivers - Media Control Devices - MPU-401 Compatible MIDI Device - Standard Game Port - Video Codecs ============== Ok, that's all the info I can think of... can anyone help me get the little icon in my desktop tray?? TY in advance! |

Do you have any Saitek Magic Devices e.g. bus, keyboard, mouse in Device Manager?

No, the magic devices are only installed for the optional part for the profile editing software.
I have had them at one time (successfully) but there was still no icon in the corner and although I could edit profiles, I could not activate them. Since then, I have done many clean installs from different sources (CD, beta from website) and to keep it cleaner I have left out the magic stuff. In other words, I could but I prefer to keep out the optional parts until I find the problem. |

& you need to install that for the PGCU - it's the only Saitek device that must have a profile running to be usable.

The PGCU is unique as far as Saitek controllers are concerned in that it's useless without SST running, all the others at least give you basic fuctionality without it..
