I have the X52 and thought it would be the perfect stick for my Flight/combat sims. I am able to config the stick to all my flight sims but,I am unable to config Mechwarrior 4 Vengance,Mechwarrior 4 Black Knight,or Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries using the in game stick config utility. The X52 is identified in the proper box,in the game. But when I click on a joystick button to config my stick I get nothing. The Throttle only lets the mech go forward but not reverse and I can not select or fire anything but my primary weapon. Its there a fix for this or am I going to have to go the hassle of using the SST software?

Hi,

I'm afraid MW4 has issues with the sheer number of controls on the X52 - the only buttons that will pick up in the in-game configuration are the first and second buttons on the stick (trigger and fire A). You would have to use the SST software to configure the stick however, there's already a MW4 profile on the disc that comes with the stick and on the website.

Are their any other profiles out there then one Saitek provides....not really happy with it's layout?

I had the same feelings about the Saitek Profile. It didn't seem like it made senxe. Here is the one I made and use. It works for Mercs and Vengeance. Haven't tried it yet on BK, but I don't imagine there would be any problems.

I've not had much luck getting the profiles I make in sst to pick up on the stick
Most of the keys I asign dont show up in game play, but they do register on the mfd

I am try to play MW4 with x52 and i had the same problem, The game only accept the buttons 1 and 2 (trigger and fire), so I make a profile using all buttons and the key presses default by game, like in toogle 1 in x52 being the F1 of keyboard. After all this the game dont accept the buttons, I press then and does not happen anything in game, but the mdf show the name i give to button.

Anyone make X52 work with MW4?

You can't use the in-game options to configure the X-52. You have to use the Saitek software to create a profile. Here is an updated version of the profile I posted above. I've been using it for several years.

It's in Pr0 format now and can be put in the Saitek folder and selected. All of the controls are on Mode 1 and accessable via buttons or hats.

Do you have the joystick selected in the MW Options menu? Also, have you changed any of the default key settings in the Options menu?

If you have your joystick selected in the Options menu and you haven't changed any of the default keystrokes, I would say that you have a hardware issue.

The #1 issue that i've seen with the Saitek sticks is having non-matching driver and software versions. Make sure you have both installed from the same source. The profile above works perfectly with the version posted in these forums.

I'll try to help get you going, but we'll need a little more detail to figure out what the problem is.
