It's really frustrating, I just ordered a brand new Cyborg Evo Wireless, and it's not working. I popped in the CD, plugged in the usb dongle, and all i get is "USB DEVICE MALFUNCTION". Tried to install a driver manually, but that didn't work either. Tried other Usb ports, to no avail. Anyone having this same problem? I need help, feel like I wasted 60 bucks.

I just bought my Evo Wireless from PC World and have had no end of problems getting the joystick to work. I'm also convinced the drivers for the Evo are not exactly XP friendly. Whilst playing Falcon the Evo stops working intermittently and only starts to work again when I move the handle rapidly. This happens with other games.

I've also noticed the Evo completely disconnects on occassions and I have to take the battery out and replace it after about 10 seconds to get it to work again, what a nightmare!

The USB dongle also appears to be very sensitive and has not always been recognised when I've plugged it into several different USB ports.

Although the stick is a solid build because of the drivers, USB dongle and connectivity issues I'm thinking of returning the Evo wireless to PC World for a refund.

wow at least you got it to work it seems, I've read somewhere that it does shut off after a period of inactivity, and you have to pull the trigger to reactivate it, the handle does nothing.

Man, I don't get it...is there a fix or do i have to send it back to california?? I bought mine online, live in NY. Sucks.

I've emailed the problem to Saitek Tech Support, I will be amazed if they get a reply back to me. I'm probably going to give it a week and then take it back. Shame really because the idea of a wireless joystick is great.

I've buyed the joystick in this week and it's work with the windows xp joystick-driver. The original driver from Saitek is producing a bluescreen, over the setup and a manually installation. Everytime the same procedure.

So I've played some nice wars in battlefield 2 and today i want to play, but whats that!? The led is flashing and the joystick doesnt work. No Button is working. When I kill the usb connection and put it back in my pc the joystick is working again. But after 10-20 seconds its the same again. He does not work. I've changed nothing from yesterday to today. But now I can't play... have changed the battery also, but it's not better...

HELP!

Yes there certainly seems to be problems with the drivers issued by Saitek for this stick. Its a real pain when the Evo just cuts out and you find you have no control!!

I'm not sure if a driver update will make much difference to the overall functionality of the stick, particularly with the time to sleep mode, who knows.

try to nuke the usb devices by using the nukeusb tool:

/program files/Saitek/... there's a tool named nuke.exe
nuke every device and try to install over the drivers.
answer YES to all questions like overwrite new files etc.

should fix that blue screen error maybe. try to reinstall DX9.0c maybe there's something wrong. check for BIOS updates for mobo too. unplug every other usb device. reports would help us out :)

thnx

I got a reply from Saitek regarding the problems noted in my previous post, they suggest I might have a faulty stick or dongle (no kidding!) and recommend I get it exchanged. Based on what I've read on these forums I'll probably go for a full refund.

Hi,

With the controller plugged in, open the System icon in Control Panel and then click Hardware at the top of the window that comes up and then click Device Manager. You will have a category at the bottom of the list here that is called Universal Serial Bus Controller. Click the plus sign next to it and tell me what it then says underneath it. Do the same for the following categories:

Sound, Video and Game Controllers
Other Devices
Human Interface Devices
