View Full Version : X52 mini mouse button in BF2?

Hi. Is there any way getting the little mouse booting working so you can use it in BF2? The 'mouse look' option would really be useful when flying planes, but the little mouse on the X52 throttle doesn't appear to work in-game. Having to take your hands off the controller to move the full size mouse is a pain. Would love to get this working. Can anyone help?
Many thanks.

Hi,
Looking around the cockpit requires that you hold down a key (Ctrl key by default) and then the mouse will look around. Just assign one of the buttons on the X52 to the secondary column of the mouse look function in the Aircraft section of the controls screen.

This does not work.....

Alternatively then, assign one of the buttons on the stick to the Ctrl key using the programming software. Then holding down that key and moving the mini stick should operate your view in the cockpit.

Hmmm.....use the programming software :D I am at work, so I am not positive, but I believe the profile I posted has that specific option already mapped :)

Ok will try the programming software that came on the cd.

owner...any luck?..I hate using the SST software,to me it seems clunky and cumbersome. If you do have luck doing this could you post a step by step on what you did to get it to work. I have fallowed the instructions in the book to the letter and can't seem to get any of my profiles to work on any of my games...maybe this is why I don't like the SST software...lol

ceechow-
after you made and saved your profiles, did you enable them in the taskbar?

Enable them in the task bar??? You mean click on the icon for the joystick and enable it there? Why doesent the software just enable it after you assign it a profile number and click save?..NM I already know the answer to this question:"Because it doesn't".

Not to thread jump..
But i just cant help but post and say what a load of rubbish BF2 is.
I am severly looking forward however to Forgotten hope 2.
I just have to say, the lack of support for anyone with a HAT on there stick, who might otherwise appreciate being able to look out the LEFT and the RIGHT of there attack chopper, whilst flying at about 5 feet, using NAP of the earth, and otherwise flying any attack helo as should be, is considerable and overwhelming evidence to the plainly obvious, yet sadly unknown fact that EA sucks major bollock.

Agreed....but I don't think FH2 is going to take care of the HAT problem :) Also, I too am looking forward to the different mods out there....especially POE2, that looks so sweet....as does Desert Conflict, I just hope they stay true to the original in all aspects...INCLUDING the chopper physics!!!

Hi POE2 Looks like a sweet game.
That being said, anything that actually resembles some ' remote ' facet of realism ( I.E not BF2 ) must be a sweet game.
I am looking forward to FH2 because I feel the developers have devoted many hours of sweat and tears into this mod.
Speaking strictly I feel it is one of the best mods I have played for any released engine.
I feel that the ww2 overtone makes for much stratigical implementation from a staged warfare point of view.. You don't have helicopters that can dominate the game for instance if there is a skilled enough pilot.....
( Perhaps this is one reason why Bf2 was " Neutered " .... )
Also I like the fact that most rifles shot one round and one round only before reload.
This is also one fatal round, totally unlike BF2 ( Let's get as far away from BF2 as humanly possible here ) and say that FH2 Totally rewards the marksman, and the skilled player, wheras BF2 revokes there bollocks and subdues them to anal tormentation by angry apes for all eternety
( Note - This is not good )...
I think POE looks awsome however we have had the " Current " war scheme done and done..(Anything that resembles BF2 will make me puke regardless) What I would like to see is some very " Techie " But realistic type mod, ( I.e lasers, gauss, hover tanks/helos/bikes that are within the realms of possibility ) that, and some well done WW1 or boer war ( spears muskets, cannon, horses, etc all very interesting. )
Anyway thank you very much for posting you have backed up my point ten fold.
Quite glad to not be the only soul on this planet with a decent grasp of REALITY.
( Or anyone that thinks BF2 is for the noobs/kids )

Well now we are just purely thread-jacking :D , so either this thread can be broken into another thread under chit chat or something.....or you can continue it over at our forums.
You say that POE2 is too close to BF2, but you are wrong....it is in a totally different theater.....Europe....that alone makes it better :) Plus all the work they put into it and making it a better game rivals FH IMHO. I too look forward to FH from a WW2 standpoint, but I also like the near future POE2.
Just my $.02

Yes I am sorry.
How naieve of myself to say that POE2 remotely resembles BF2.
I suggest that POE2 Will have some authentic relation to realistic type warfare, wheras BF2 seems to draw as far as away from it as possible.
The European theatre will be interesting for sure, however as long as the game is realistic, I will enjoy it...That being said I would love BF2 as it was, I dont mind it being situated in northern bhagdad or down at the local chippie....
It's the realism that counts.
and according to this rule, POE looks sweet, and I'm sure it won't be suffering from Noob'd disease, either...
