Hi ppl,
Thanks so much for making these files for ppl to be able to use the x52 with BF1942,
I just thought id add one with one slight variation from yours.

The "Air.con" file that you posted allows you to use the joystick as primary control for planes and keyboard as Secondary.

The attached Air.con still has the Joystick as the primary but uses the mouse axis 0 & 1 for Pitch (Elevator) and Roll (Ailerons) control, and K/B keys "A" and "D" for Yaw (rudder) as a secondary control such as that given as a second option in the BF42 Default setup.

This is just the setup that suited me as i can fly with the mouse and joystick, but not the keyboard alone, And I thought there may be more ppl out the with the same Preference.

"edit: Ive just updated the Air.com file in the attachment, Because in the last one only the joystick throttle could be used and not the Keyboard.
This file lets u use both joystick and keyboard throttle together.

BTW: Don't forget to delete the air.con file in My documents ("C:\Documents and Settings\'your name'\My Documents\Battlefield 1942\mods\BF1942\Settings\Profiles\'your profile'\Controls")
and follow Drayu's procedure again.

hi drayu, in the past i take the patch X52 BF1942 Final Fix by Drayu.zip

at this time you make a video for help all to install the patch.

after the video my x52 work on my batlefield1942

but now i want reinstall this and i can't for two reason:
the video is no longer disponile and there one file i don't know where it go (land.con) in the procedure.

this is the procedure:

STOP....Make a copy of the original air.con file and put somewhere safe incase this doesn't work for you!!!
YOU DON'T HAVE TO CONFIGURE ANYTHING IN THE BF1942 AIR CONTROL SET UP!!! Doing so will mess up this fix!
1. Go into BF1942 and set up a profile.
2. Set any sound, video, infantry, vehicle, etc settings you like, leave the air tab alone.
3. Jump into a single player game and then quit it.
4. Exit out of the game.
5. Navigate to where you have BF1942 installed and go to the folder (where mine says Drayu should be your profile name): C:\Games\Battlefield bf1942\Mods\bf1942\Settings\Profiles\Drayu\Control s
6. Left click the air.con file and mark it as "read-only" by right clicking and then choosing properties and then "read-only"
7. Exit out of that folder and load up BF1942
8. Make a game and then once loaded quit and exit out of BF1942. This will create a new folder in your "my documents" location
9. Go to the folder(where mine says Drayu should be your profile name): C:\Documents and Settings\Drayu\My Documents\Battlefield 1942\mods\BF1942\Settings\Profiles\Drayu\Controls
10. Copy and then paste my air.con file located in this zip folder into the above directory.
11. At this point you MUST mark my air.con file as "read only" by right clicking and then choosing properties and then "read-only"! IF you load up BF1942 without doing this the file WILL revert to the old air.con and will not work for you!!!
12. You are all done with setting up your controller so that you can fly, now you have to set up the controller to be able to use additional buttons on the controller. See the next section for instructions.

You must now copy the bf1942.dat file into:
1. Navigate to the following folder (this is where mine resides on my computer):
c:\programs\saitek\software

2. Copy and then paste my x52 bf1942.dat file located in this zip folder into the above directory.

3. Now that you have copied the x52 bf1942.dat file into the right directory you have to enable it to work.

4. In the taskbar of your computer (lower right side near clock), click the Saitek x52 Flight Controller USB icon. (See picture below)

5. You should see the profile listed, click on the bf1942 profile. (See picture below)

6. Your profile is now enabled.

7. Go play!

omg, i worked 5 hours on this today

what is your recommandation?
the patch above is this the solution?

The video is gone, I can't find it anymore, sorry. So unless Saitek has it archived somewhere, you will have to follow the included readme.txt instructions.

All you need to do is replace the air.con with mine and then use the x52_Bf1942.pr0 file for the saitek software. Just be sure to follow the directions when you have to make a file read-only.

here is the latest files:

8. Make a game and then once loaded quit and exit out of BF1942. This will create a new folder in your "my documents" location

when you say quit and exit out. do you say close BF1942?
