I think I know his problem. I've got the same one too. The throttle fails to reach 100% in game even when the throttle is physically at its maximum up position. This is my second X-45 that is doing that and I cannot figure out how to fix it unless I just get something new. My guess is that the potentiometer in the throttle is faulty.

Does the throttle re-calibrate as the stick does?

The throttle does not recalibrate. There is not even a tab in the game control window for calibration; some of the newer ones did not come with it. It will recalibrate temporarily when it is unplugged/replugged; but that is only temporary.

TC Stele:

Unplug the controller, click Start>Run, type regedit and click OK. In the Registry Editor browse to the following folders in order:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
MediaProperties
PrivateProperties
DirectInput

And delete the VID_06A3&PID_053C (or VID_06A3&PID_2541) folder. Plug the controller back in, rotate the stick and move the throttle and rudder fully a couple of times and see if that has fixed it.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it did not work. I've tried everything possible for the last month and a half but no luck. I will have to replace this second joystick with the warranty that I have for it but the third stick may be my last stick. Sorry, but I'm frustrated with the same exact problem coming up and I expect the same to apply to the third stick in the future. :(
