You can't open old profiles with the new software (it's pretty clear in the Announcements thread, but not in the new manual or written anywhere in the driver or SST after you download it).
You'll need to wait for the promised converter, or rebuild new profiles.

No, there's not. If you want Vista support, you need the latest Beta software, which means you can't use the old profiles.

But then if i use the beta drivers there are no profiles, thats pretty pointless if you ask me.. :(
You have all stabbed yourselfs in the back, as im sure there a re a lot of people who do not know how to make there own profiles, now vista has been out for over half a year, im sure you have had time to make some stable vista drivers by now??

This is easily solved by reading the manual for the SST software - this is the last download link in the thread where you get the beta from.
Really, there's an initial learning bump, but once you get used to it, making profiles is a relatively quick and easy job - what usually takes the time is working out where you want all the commands to be assigned on the controller.

There are a lot of things wrong here. For example, the SST Manual doesn't address itself not one iota to the X52. Nor is it 3d. You guys have to be able to do better then this. Vista 64bit has been out for close to 9½ months in completed release and for much longer then that in beta. I am close to returning this great looking piece of hardware that is requiring me to give up my real life to learn how to use this monstrocity. I can always return it and buy it again when it makes sense because everything is working and it's not a guessing game. As you can see I'm not very happy.

it doesn't really have to as it's a common procedure across all the controllers - it's a generic manual not one specific to any 1 controller (& indeed even the manual is beta too).
Nor is it 3d.

Take it back to Best Buy and buy it again when there's a converter out. Simple solution and one I can live with. I am not that much of a geek that I want to live in front of my computer screen.

I think the lack of a converter is a valid complaint as is the fact that the software has been in "beta" since the early part of the year. If MS tried to sell you a new version of word that wouldn't let you open existing documents, I doubt you'd stand for it, let alone say "no problem I'll just re-write all my documents." Saitek has had plenty of time to release the final SST sofware, i doubt that thier new hardware release such as the yoke are being released with beta programming sofware and consumers have put consideral time and effort into thier profiles.

1.Well, how many profiles does the average joe blow have? Can it really be that hard?
2. So blame Saitek for others upgrading to Vista, which i might add still awaits its first service pack, yet i dont see anyone asking why Vista,s service pack is taking so long.
Honestly gents, its just not that tuff, is it..Accept it for what it is and move on.
