I've had my x-52 for over a year, and just today it started crashing my win xp when I try to load a profile. The software/drivers install fine, even the beta drivers, and I can access all my profiles in the editor, but as soon as I try to load a profile, any of them, the computer shuts down, no error, just total power off. I've never had this problem before and have had no luck troubleshooting this on my own.

I'm running win xp, nvidia geforce 7600, 2 gig ram, athlon xp 2400 cpu.

So far I have tried changing the connection from usb hub to direct usb on the mobo, completely deleting the software and drivers- including purging the registry and del backup copies of the drivers. Nothing stops the crash.

I can use the stick as is w/games no problem, I just cant get the stick to accept a profile. I even tried creating an empty profile, w/no changes to the defaults, and it crashes if I select that too. I've also tried loading profiles from the taskbar, from the profiler editor, and even using the clutch, all to the same effect.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Someone else had a similar problem recently and they fixed it by reinstalling the software (http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=11551&page=18). Do make sure that you're running the beta 2 drivers for your device as well as the beta 2 software.

The other thing that it's definitely worth checking is that you're running the latest soundcard drivers for your PC - we've had some people find that crashes were actually being caused by their soundcard drivers.

I have the same problem. I just upgraded my X45 to a X52, installed new drivers and SST and spent hours doing a profile.

When I apply it, booooom, machine reboots.

Does it do it with any profile that you make?

Yeah, it used to crash on every profile I made. But problem seems solved now.

It seems the drivers which came with the product CD were not compatible with the SST profiler software on the site. Downloading and installing the latest drivers fixed the problem.
