Initially I emailed support three days ago and no reply. I am hoping someone clever can remedy this. I am stumped.

I have installed, uninstalled, reinstalled my AV8R several times. I've updated all my XP pro stuff, and I get errors when I try to install the SST software.
I've searched the forum here and manually removed saitek anything from the registry. I went to MS and got a patch that is supposed to have fixed admin errors.

If I go into windows and try install the CD, this is the error code. MS says non validated, non admin kind of error. I have a legitimate validated XP pro system and fully able to get all the updates and software from MS.

Error Code: -5004 : 0x80070005
Error Information:
>SetupDLL\SetupDLL.cpp (2013)
pAPP:Saitek SST Programming Software
PVENDOR:Saitek
PGUID:967FB80D-56BD-42EF-A942-9E8C78F984A4
$10.50.0.125
@Windows XP Service Pack 2 (2600) BT_OTHER 232.64

If I go to safe mode and log in as admin (instead of named admin in windows) I can install and edit the SST software (in safemode). Once back in windows, when I try to open and edit the SST software I get this error report (below)
I hope I am able to use those four buttons as the advertised 12!

-5004 : 0x80070005

Hi,

Have you tried the beta 2 drivers and software from the Announcements section here on the forum?

No, I haven't. I'm sort of leery about beta stuff.
If its not so much beta, but different I'd try and report.

Did they do away with the "nuke" program? I couldnt find it on the CD, or anywhere on my drive.
Can I download it separate?

Well well well, the beta worked.
Its good to see Saitek has freed itself from the whoring bonds of Microsoft. (warning! stop installing click here to install unapproved drivers) I had an idea they would work when those warning signs popped up.
Excellent. Drivers went in with out a hitch as did the programming software. Brilliant!

I got some service pack update a few months ago, and have had problems with various installations since- all administrator related i.e. ATI drivers wont install (had to use omega "beta" non approved drivers) My CD burner quit working suggesting ever time I burned something I was pirating something, All BS- I own this computer as well as PAID in full with receipts all the office ware, gaming ware, xp pro disc and paper cover, etc etc.
Had to change the motherboard a few months after I installed the whole system....what....a....nightmare....I'd rather drive a pencil into my eye than ever have to call MS again.
Ive searched the net and there are hundreds of us with the same problem.

I had to go into safe mode to uninstall the various saitek things, but back in windows, all went well.

4i$$ off Micro$1ut!!

thanks for the suggestion, regards and hope this thread helps someone else
