I've had my X52 Pro since February and its been working fine. I've not used it for a few weeks and when I plugged it in Windows Vista stated that the drivers weren't installed. So I downloaded the Vista 32 bit drivers Saitek_X52Pro_Flight_Controller_3000_107_32.exe and tried to install it.

When I do so I get to the the message from 'Saitek Driver Update Wizard: Driver setup - Please plug in the controllers you want to update' but 'Next >'
is greyed out.

I tried plugging the X52 Pro into different USB ports but it made no difference. I managed to install the drivers manually by using the files that had been copied to

C:\Windows\temp\Saitek\Saitek_X52Pro_Flight_Contro ller_32_Drivers\00000003\0762

The problem I have is that the backlight of the MFD LCD display is off and just displays 'Saitek X52 Pro Flight Control System'. All the LEDS of the buttons are off and the indicator LEDs on the throttle are all off. Normally they are all on when the X52 Pro is plugged in. Even before Windows has finished booting normally if my memory serves me correctly.

'Saitek X52 Pro Flight Controller' appears in Game Controllers in Control Panel. But in Properties->MFD the brightness slider is maximum. I cannot make any changes that will get the throttle control unit functioning as it should.

Both the throttle and joystick work as normal apart from this in FSX so I'm wondering if someone could you please explain how I can resolve this?

Many thanks for your help!

The message on the MFD seems to indicate that your OS and your X52 Pro are not recognizing each other. See if this thread will help: http://www.saitekforum.com/showthread.php?t=11686. (scroll down to post #4)

Hi Wiley,

I got it working! The HID driver wasn't installed and its all perfect now.
I don't understand why the drivers didn't install in the first place and why I got the 'Please plug in the controllers you want to update' message.

Anyway I really doubt I would have got it working without your help so thank you so much! I just got my new LCD monitors yesterday and I'm really glad my Saitek X52 Pro is back to normal.

Cheers!
