Hi
on my x52 the twist rudder is creating spikes ,
So i was wondering if i bought the the rudder pedals and used them instead of the twist , that would cure my problum . but while testing using the stick with the twist locked , there was still some spikeing issues .
so my question is : is there any way to diable the twist input totally . and not just by locking the stick .
i would like to go back to using peddals as rudder any way but to buy a new stick and pedals is costly fix
so am looking for the cheapest option possable .
Many thanks

I'm having similar problems with my X52 and I don't remember it happening before. I only noticed when I tried playing X3: Reunion the other day and noticed my ship was moving around by itself a little every now and then. In Battlefield 1942 it doesn't show up because I didn't install that fix and I only use the keys for rudder and joystick for everything else. If I tap the controller a little (the part that moves) then let it resettle, it sometimes stops spiking. I don't know if the problem is the sensor or the spring isn't stiff enough to re-center it properly.

I had spiking in my X52-pro throttle. This was really annoying. I solved it by opening up the throttle and used some contact spray on the appropriate pot-meter. This fixed the problem and the throttle is now smooth as it should be.

However, opening up your saitek product does void any warranty on it.

Having the same problem with mine twist as well. it started about a month after i got it. but it was a slight spike and bumping up the dead space did the trick. or I'd tpa it and let it settle and that would do it. It's been a year now though and each month I've had to make that dead zone a little bit bigger and a little bit bigger, now the sitck isn't uable anymore. The dead zone is so big I can't use the twist action anymore.
Meaning I can't use the stick at all.

Mine is spiking now as well. Watching it under game controllers in control panel it just jumps around to the right supratically. Ocasionally tapping it helps, but when flying FSX and the redbull time trials so close to the ground as soon as it spikes i get slammed into the ground, (I just thought I was a bad pilot until I saw the readout in game controllers). Any way to fix this, because as of June 17th I would have had this stick for over a year.

Hello all,
spiking issues are usually a problem with the potentiometers in the controller. You can either try the solution that Platy used to fix his problem, or return the stick for repair.
First, to make sure that the spiking is most likely hardware related, you can do the following:
1) Try the recalibration fix found HERE (http://www.saitek.com/uk/supp/recalibration.htm).
2) Test the stick on another system to see if you get the same behaviour.
All of our products are covered by a 2 year warranty, so if you think that your unit is faulty, email technical support for return instructions.

Hey, I'm having the twist issue on my X52 (regular version) as well now. I tried using the above program, but no go. I e-mailed tech support but haven't heard anything yet. How long does it usually take to get a response? Also, is this issue going to keep happening, or was there just a bad batch or something? I've only had mine for about a month. Granted, I use it very often. Is the Pro any better? I've had an X45 for 5 years before it gave up on me.
I've been a big supporter of Saitek stuff for a long time, but I hope I don't have to send my stick the shop every month or so.
