At first: I searched the forum, but found no answer. The sticky about reinstall problems also doesn't work for me, because I have none of the mentioned entries in my registry. So, here's my problem:
I run Win XP SP2 and had an X-52 installed with the original drivers from the CD. Lately I bought the rudder pedals and tried to install them the following way: I downloaded the latest drivers from Saitek webpage for X-52 and the pedals as well as the latest SST software for the pedals. I tried to update the X-52 first. The install program told me that it had to deinstall all the old stuff, which I accepted. The PC then rebooted  and after it was booted up again the installation software tried to proceed. When it told me to connect the controller I wanted to update I plugged in the X-52, got a message in the status bar about new found hardware and a window popped up which asked me where to search for the drivers for the new hardware (which shouldn't happen, as I was told by German support). At this point I got an error message, that the drivers couldn't be found and the installation was aborted. The same thing happened when I tried to install the drivers for the rudder pedals.
With the help of the German support I managed at least to uninstall manually (with "nx -Mu -SK", deleting the oemxx.inf etc.) and to install both drivers correctly. But I still do have a problem installing the SST software. The install program aborts with an error message "Die aktuelle Version der Anwendung wurde nicht erkannt. Das Setup wird jetzt beendet." (means something like "The present/latest(?) version of the application was not recognized. Setup will be canceled now."
Any idea what to do? German support has no more answers for me and directed me to the UK support:mad:
Very funny by the way: I have two partitions with Win XP on my HD, one for games and one for apps. Both had the X-52 installed with the same versions of driver and SST. On my game partition the update and installation of the pedals worked fine, including SST software. The problems described above only exist on the apps partition.
